RP WOOD Fire Stop

RP WOOD Fire Stop
RP Wood Fire Stop is used as a non-flammable fire protection coating for timber. It is intended for the protection of wood that is not exposed to the direct influence of the climate (under the roof structures), for the preventive protection of wood built into the interiors of buildings (roof structures, beams, black floors, etc.), construction timber, details of timber constructions, protection from fungus, mold and insects. It can also be used on decorative wooden items to provide additional fire protection at home or in the workplace. Fire-treated timber means that it has been treated with Bochemit Antiflash, which is designed to slow or prevent the spread of fire. These types of coatings are usually made of flame retardant chemicals, such as ammonium polyphosphate, which give off gas when exposed to heat. This gas helps to cool the wood and create a protective barrier that slows or prevents the spread of fire.

The use of fire-resistant wooden coatings has several positive aspects:
1. Increased safety: Fire-resistant coatings help slow or prevent the spread of fire, which can
provide additional time for occupants to evacuate and firefighters to respond.
2. Improved fire resistance: When properly applied, fire resistant coatings can provide a higher level of fire resistance compared to uncoated wood. This can help reduce the risk of fire damage and minimize the amount of damage if a fire does break out.
3. Easy to apply: Fire resistant coatings are generally easy to apply and can be done as part of
regular wood surface maintenance.
4. Cost-Effective: Fire-resistant coatings are a cost-effective way to increase the fire resistance of
wood compared to other fire protection measures such as fire-resistant materials or fire-resistant wall assemblies.
5. Aesthetically pleasing: Fire resistant coatings can be found in a variety of colors and finishes that allow the wood to retain its natural appearance while providing additional fire protection. It is important to note that although fire retardant coatings offer many benefits, they do not guarantee that the wood will not catch fire. For best results, it is important to use fire resistant coatings in conjunction with other fire protection measures such as other fire protection materials and solutions.
